Statutory accounts tell you where you have been. Management accounts should help you decide where to go next — yet most owner-managers we meet only see numbers once a year, far too late to act on them.
What belongs in a monthly pack
A useful monthly pack is short and decision-oriented: a P&L against budget with variances explained in plain language; a cash position and short forecast; receivables and payables ageing so nothing slips; and two or three KPIs that actually move your business. If a number does not change a decision, it does not need to be in the pack.
Cadence beats precision
A pack that lands by the tenth of the month, every month, is worth more than a perfect one that arrives in week four. Close quickly, reconcile properly, and review it as a team — the habit is where the value is.
General guidance for UAE owner-managers; tailor the pack to your sector and stage.
